Home Program Support

The consulting staff from the Faison School for Autism and the Autism Center of Virginia offer comprehensive support for parents providing intensive behavioral intervention in the home. Services include skill assessment and program development, training and supervision of home program therapists, parent training, and intervention planning for problem behavior.

Our staff will determine your child’s current level of functioning across a variety of areas including language, social interaction, cognitive development, pre-academic skills, daily living skills, and problem behavior. The consultant will develop a comprehensive, individualized behavioral intervention program based on the principles of applied behavior analysis to both build skills in areas of weakness and to reduce the levels of interfering behaviors.

Training will be provided to the parents and additional home program staff hired by the parents. We will include specific program objectives, as well as techniques for addressing issues that may arise throughout the day. Ongoing consultation will keep programming up to date to ensure continued progress.
