After School Program

The Faison School began our pilot After School Program in September 2009, and will continue rolling enrollment throughout the school year.

Students in the After School Program will attend from 2:15 – 6:00 pm, as 2- or 4-day students. 4-day students will attend Monday through Thursday and 2-day students will attend either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday. We will provide 1:1 staffing for this program, in addition to oversight by senior Faison staff and an After School Program Leader. The After School Program will provide an individualized program for each student based on the child’s need as assessed by The Faison School during the intake process and based on the requests of parents and guardians. There will be opportunities for individualized instruction in the areas of daily living, recreation, communication and social skills. Students with more challenging behavioral needs will also have individualized behavior plans to address these challenges, and in addition, staff working with the children will receive training in the principles of applied behavior analysis and behavior management.
