About Our people

Director, Autism Center of Virginia
Robert Cohen, Ph.D., has served as Director of The Autism Center of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University since 1999. Dr. Cohen is a Professor and Vice Chair in the Department of Psychiatry at VCU. For the past 40 years Dr. Cohen has been engaged in research, teaching, program development and administration related to improving the quality of life of children and their families.

Education Director
Katherine Matthews, Ph.D. joined The Faison School for Autism in July of 2005. Dr. Matthews completed her doctorate at Teachers College, Columbia University in the behavior disorders and applied behavior analysis program.

Director of Advancement and Finance
Wendy Kreuter joined The Faison School in November 2003. Her prior experience includes 20 years at Schwarzschild Jewelers in a variety of upper management roles including operations, advertising and marketing, human resources and buying.

Clinical Consultant
Louis Hagopian, Ph.D., received his Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and is a behavioral specialist at the Kennedy Krieger Institute and The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
