Welcome to The Faison School – Autism
Center of Virginia (ACV), a nonprofit autism center
dedicated to providing resources for children with autism spectrum
disorders (ASDs) and their families. The Faison School – ACV
represents a unique private/public partnership between a nonprofit
school and a major research center, Virginia Commonwealth University.
Through our three-pronged approach of evidence based treatment,
research, and community education, The Faison School – ACV
serves as a learning center where the most effective autism therapies
are used, taught, and shared. The center is located in Richmond,
Virginia.
This Web site has been designed to provide helpful
information to families impacted by autism, professionals, educators,
donors and the general community. You will also find information
about our school programs and services and much more.

Did you know?
- Autism is the fastest growing developmental
disability in the nation, affecting one in 150 children.
- Autism is now the third most common childhood
disorder, more common than Down Syndrome and childhood diabetes
combined. It occurs more frequently than childhood cancer, cystic
fibrosis, and multiple sclerosis together.
- The CDC and early childhood professionals agree
the earlier children receive appropriate assessment and intervention,
the more that can be done to help them reach their full potential.
